According to a Wednesday report from data tracker comScore, Black Friday sales are expected to rise significantly this holiday season.

The firm predicts total online spending to jump 17% from the year-ago period. Last year comScore expected sales to ramp up 15%. Online Black Friday sales were up 26% last year from the prior year, and the firm expects an even better gain this year.

This trend could mean higher-than-expected holiday sales for retail giants like Wal-Mart (WMT), Macy’s (M), and Nordstrom (JWN).
